Pay Range: $23+/hour based on experience


Haren Construction Company, Inc. specializes in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and commercial and industrial types of construction.

We seek an experienced Payroll Administrator with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional integrity, and strong organizational skills. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position will support weekly payroll processing, including reviewing timecards and hours, corresponding with superintendents and other leaders about time worked, and handling periodic but critical tasks such as entering holiday pay, auditing vacation time and overtime, and inputting bonus information.

This position will also support employee onboarding and offboarding, respond to state unemployment agencies, and answer questions about payroll processing and payroll-related handbook information. Additional duties may be assigned by the Payroll Manager from time to time, especially during exceptionally busy pay periods.

The Payroll Administrator works closely with our Payroll, Accounting, and Human Resources teams and may occasionally interface with senior leadership on confidential matters. Discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality are non-negotiable in this role.

Job Requirements and Essential Skills:
  • At least one year of payroll experience in a project-based environment
  • Construction industry payroll experience highly preferred; temporary staffing agency payroll experience will be considered
  • Prior SAGE 300 experience is preferred
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Extraordinary integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet payroll deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change, especially during busy pay periods
